In early 2026, as part of the Cypress Nordic Advisory Group, Hollyburn Cross Country Ski Club and the Nordic Racers Ski Club commissioned a report by John Aalberg of the Cypress cross-country ski area on Hollyburn Ridge.John, a former Olympian, is renowned for designing several Winter Olympic Nordic venues, including Whistler Olympic Park, that have become legacy sites used by recreational skiers and racers. An initial visit took place during the ski season in late March, followed by another visit in late June after the snows had melted. This report was then forwarded to Cypress Mountain by Hollyburn and the Nordic Racers with the request that it be reviewed and considered for implementation.
